Audrey Tautou, to me, is such a beautiful woman. She has that mysterious allure that really draws you in! I guess I wish I could have the sort of presence and confidence she does, you know? Anyway, I saw her on the cover of a magazine about 2 weeks ago and decided that I really wanted to do a portrait of her for a bit more practice.
I know there are areas where I've really failed to capture her, and this bit is wonky, and that bit looks funny (and lets face it, the scanner totally trashes it further haha), but I still sort of like it. I still think I'm improving a bit. I was also brave enough this time round to furiously erase large chunks when it was nearly complete and start again - the eyes, nose, and chin for one. My favourite part actually, is the chin. Oh, and some of the big pearls. They were fun to draw - though the small ones were horrible and I wish I'd just left them out haha! Anyway... enjoy, and I'd appreciate some crits if you can   Drawn with mechanical 2H pencil and a 6B graphite stick Comments

Always have.Overall it's amazing, and you've really improved over these last few... periods of time. something doesn't sit quite right with me but I'm not an artist so ignore me lol. I know what you mean though, something doesnt sit quite right with me either :/ I think I may have made her face too long... =___=;;; -- Gallery | Commissions | Etsy | Art Blog I think... Her eyes are a little too close together and maybe a smidge too low? They don't line with her ears in a way that works in my head. But facial shape and length is fine. I think it's just eye placing.
Still better than anything I can do lol -- It's never about what you'll take from me, It's what I'll give you Youd think, but seriously, her ears are really that high, I triple checked that! But yes I think the eyes might be too close together and maybe not wide enough...
Haha, you never know! That portrait of my mum was the first one I'd ever done and thats probably the best one I've actually done lol.
